2022 saw a challenge to my visual arts career as I faced eyesight issues due to a tear in my retina and later the growth of cataracts. The details in the landscape disappeared leaving me to see only blurs and indistinct features while I wait for surgery. The selection of paintings in this gallery, are from my work to document my journey through this year as I record my impressions of the local landscape in preparation for a solo exhibition in December titled, The Year I Lost Sight. The exhibition will highlight over twenty of my paintings using oils, acrylics, and modelling paste that adds texture for the touch in addition to the visual sensation of experiencing artworks.
